The next few months at ITE are going to be busy ones. You are going to be hearing from us on a number of different activities. While we try not to overwhelm your inbox, we will be asking for more input than usual between now and the end of March. I thought it would be helpful to outline some of what will be taking place and why.

  • Respond to the ITE Needs Assessment Survey: The ITE Needs Assessment Survey ensures that ITE continues to offer relevant and valuable programming to transportation professionals like you. This survey is open throughout the month of February, with a closing date of March 1. I hope you have seen improvements since the last time we did this survey, right after Jeff Paniati came on board three years ago. Please respond and help us to continue to improve member value. For more information on this survey, click here.
  • Vote in the ITE 2019 Elections for International President and Vice President: This is another important way that you can voice your opinion on the future of ITE. The ballot is open and if you are a voting member of ITE you should have received an email with your log in information. Check your spam folder and if you find you did not receive it, please contact Zach Pleasant at zpleasant@ite.org. Voting closes at noon on March 14. You can find more information on the candidates running for office here, including short audio recordings of the ITE Vice President candidates sharing their opinion on key topics such as member value, governance, leadership style, and more.
  • Buy the newly launched Parking Generation Manual, 5th Edition: This updated manual follows the lead of the modernized, updated, and expanded Trip Generation Manual, 10th Edition. The analyses in Parking Generation will differentiate the levels of parking demand observed at rural, general urban/suburban, dense multi-use urban, and center city core sites. Similar to Trip Generation ManualParking Generation Manual will be available in hard-copy, electronic, and cloud-based formats in order to cater to the format that works best for users. The web-based app (ITEParkGen) allows a user to produce parking generation data plots and statistics for the complete database as well as filtering by year and location. Get your copy today – click here to purchase. Also, check out the February ITE Journal and ITE Talks Transportation podcast, both of which are devoted to Parking.
  • Submit a nomination for the ITE Awards Program: These awards recognize individuals who contribute to the advancement of ITE and the transportation profession. If you know of an outstanding individual who has demonstrated general leadership throughout the transportation industry or who has displayed exemplary dedication and commitment within a District or Council, honor their service. Submissions are due March 1. You can find more information here
  • Register for the upcoming Joint ITE and Texas District Annual Meeting and Exhibit: We are looking forward to another terrific Annual Meeting and Exhibit with a rich and relevant technical program, a multitude of networking opportunities, and a wealth of resources, including more than 60 exhibitors. This year we are integrating more workshops on the front (July 21) and back end (July 24) of the conference to provide increased in-depth learning opportunities. As you make your travel arrangements and reserve your hotel, plan to arrive early on July 21 and stay through the day on July 24 to take advantage of everything that #ITEAustin2019 has to offer. Registration is now open – keep your eye on your inbox for more information or visit ite.org/annualmeeting.
