Request for Information: Proposed ATC API Reference Implementation Project

By Tatiana Richey posted 06-04-2013 03:03 PM

The Advanced Transportation Controller (ATC) Application Programming Interface (API) Standard Version 02 (ATC 5401 v02) is an approved standard of the ATC Joint Committee. ATC 5401 v02 defines software (API Software) that operates on an ATC Engine Board as defined by ATC 5201 Standard v05 and v06.   It has been determined by the ATC Joint Committee that the goals of the ATC program are best served if a common reference implementation of API Software be developed that can be used by the entire industry. A project is under consideration to develop such software.

The goal of the proposed project is to provide API Software that is a supported and maintained by the user community (API Reference Implementation or APIRI). There has been work performed previously as steps towards this goal.

 Possible tasks are:

1) Completing the development of the API Software developed under previous projects;

2) Completing the test software that is to be used to validate API Software (API Validation Suite or APIVS);

3) Validating the API Software; and 4) Setting up an open source development environment to allow the user community to use and maintain the API Software.
