ITE Student Chapter Spotlight: Marquette University

Networking and career planning for the future was the focus of Marquette University ITE student members who organized and attended the Breakfast with Professionals annual event on March 31, 2011.

Held at the Alumni Memorial Union at Marquette University's campus in Milwaukee, WI, USA, the event began with the opportunity for the student members to meet and greet with professionals in attendance before enjoying a hearty buffet breakfast. This breakfast event was also geared toward helping students establish their professional network. To aid in the networking process, each attendee received a list of names and e-mail addresses of all participants, which included their photos. With this information, students can easily identify people they met at the breakfast and secure future networking possibilities.

After breakfast, attendees listened to an inspirational presentation by Ken Voigt, a former ITE international president. Ken focused his presentation on the comparison of private and public jobs, career paths in transportation engineering, and methods on how to interview and succeed as a professional.
