ITE Announces Keynote Speaker for ITE 2015 Annual Meeting & Exhibit

ITE is pleased to announce that Manny Diaz, former two-term Mayor of Miami, FL, will be the keynote speaker at the ITE 2015 Annual Meeting & Exhibit this August in Hollywood, FL. Diaz will speak during the Opening Plenary Session on Monday, August 3 at 8:45 a.m.

The theme of this year's Opening Plenary Session is Shaping and Rebuilding Cities to Serve the Community. In keeping with this them, Diaz will sharehis perspectives on how he turned his vision for Miami into reality. He will also discuss the role of the many stakeholders in this process. During Diaz's tenure, Miami was transformed in to a center for business, the quality of life for its residents improved, and the city became a top tourist destination.

A panel discussion will follow Diaz's remarks, focusing on funding, accommodation of changing demographics and navigation of the hurdles that may hinder rebuilding our cities and neighborhoods. 

About Manny Diaz

A force in local, state and national politics for nearly three decades, Manny Diaz was first elected City of Miami Mayor in 2001, having never before held elective office. 

He was reelected to a second term in 2005, and was chosen to lead the United States Conference of Mayors as its president in 2008. Mayor Diaz developed a vision for Miami as an international City that embodies diversity, economic opportunity, effective customer service and a highly rated quality of life. To achieve this goal, he re-engineered Miami government from top to bottom.
