Professor John Pucher of Rutgers University Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy recently gave a webinar on August 14 for Active Living Research and ITE "How to Increase Cycling for Daily Travel: Lessons from Cities Around the World" that go great reviews. It summarizes a research project he did with Jennifer Dill at Portland State University, School of Urban Studies and Planning, Susan Handy at University of California at Davis, Dept of Environmental Science and Policy, and Ralph Buehler at Virginia Tech, School of Urban Affairs and Planning. The slides are full of great photos (including a wide range of bike facilities from around North America and the world) and valuable statistics you might be able to use when asked to make the case for bicycling. In particular, it makes a very strong case, backed up by lots of numbers, for the much greater popularity and safety of physically protected bike lanes such as on-street cycle tracks and widely buffered bike lanes.  The archived webinar is freely available to all at: https://student.gototraining.com/26sj4/recording/4355134024171497216
