Complete Streets Survey

I have to give a talk on how agencies are adopting Complete Streets policies and our Design Urban Walkable Thoroughfares Report at a CNU workshop. Can anyone relate their experiences at the State or local community level on how this issue is being addressed, good or bad?

Ken we're doing lots of that here in Austin. We have an adopted downtown plan referred to as "Great Streets" which includes wide sidewalks and functional street typologies. We're also working to rewrite our transportation criteria manual to follow the CSS RP. Austin is an active member of NACTO and is providing info to them for their upcoming roadway and intersection design guidelines. There is strong political support and bond monies for implementation, so lots of good examples are in design or on ground.
