Hey Students! Get your team together for the 2012 ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl. In 2011, 58 ITE student chapters across the United States and Canada competed in traffic bowls to qualify for the Grand Championship. There were over 180 students who took part.

In order to reach the Traffic Bowl Grand Championship, you and your team need to compete in an ITE District traffic bowl. The winners of each District traffic bowl will then compete in the Grand Championship to be held in August 2012 at the ITE Annual International Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, USA!

Three members and an alternate of each District’s winning team will be given a travel grant and complimentary registration to attend the ITE Annual Meeting in Atlanta. The team winning the Grand Championship will receive a plaque and cash award of $2,000 (USD).

Plan now to get your team together and prepare to participate! Most of these district traffic bowls will take place from March to June of this year, and be held during a District’s annual or seasonal meeting. These meetings are also great events for you and your fellow students to learn more about the transportation engineering and planning profession and meet prospective employers!

So do not wait another minute! Go to the ITE website, www.ite.org to find the date, location, and contact information for your District's upcoming traffic bowl, the 2012 rules and instructions for this year’s competition (they have been revised a bit), video highlights from the 2010 and 2011 Grand Championships, and photos from many of the previous District events.

Contact your district's traffic bowl coordinator TODAY!
