The Future of Transportation has Arrived

Let's face it, transportation today isn't what it was when you first walked across the stage to accept your degreewith the exception of you new grads and students out there, of course. But for many of you, work as you know it has changed dramatically.

It's become complicated and full of questions, like... How do you integrate ever-growing community needs, demands really, into your transportation projects? Where will funding come from, and who should you be collaborating with? What emerging trends will become the new standard? How can you make sure you are at the table when important community decisions are made?

Continually changing metropolitan mobility needs mean you must answer all of these questions and more. Safety and operations considerations are just the beginning. Now, you must also consider public policy, environmental impact, public health implications, emerging trends in transportation modes, and more. ITE is here to help.

Resources like this Community are designed to bring you together with your peers in a way that wasn't possible in the past. If you have a question, or would like to share a recent experience on how you did something differently, share it here. We also will be addressing these very issues this March in San Diego.

Through innovative education and face-to-face collaboration, the ITE Technical Conference and Exhibit will provide you with a roadmap to navigate these complex relationships and emerging trends. You'll hear big picture ideas from industry experts, have in-depth roundtable discussions with your peers, and learn from organizations who have already taken steps to meet the unique challenges of today's environment. All of this means you will go home with concrete ideas for implementation in your own neighborhood, and resources to turn your ideas into reality.

Let's hear what you've done, or what you're thinking of doing, to meet these new challenges. Consider writing a blog post, or starting a discussion. We would all love to hear from you. All 14,000 of us!
