Panel Members:
Dr. Sherif Ishak, PE, is a Professor and Department Chair of Civil Engineering at ODU.  He has over 25 years of experience in the field of transportation engineering.  Since 2015, Dr. Ishak has served as the Chair of the Transportation Research Board Standing Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing Applications (AED50).  He is an associate editor for the Journal of Transportation Research Record.

Dr. Taylor Lochrane is a CARMA Program Manager at Federal Highway Administration in the Office of Operations Research and Development. He is currently leading and managing the CARMASM program, part of a USDOT effort to accelerate the research and development of Cooperative Driving Automation (CDA). He is leveraging open source software and using agile software development practices to accelerate innovative concepts aimed to increase the safety and improve the overall infrastructure efficiency of the transportation system using CDA technology. The CARMA program enables a larger community to participate in the development thought open collaboration and testing for the acceleration of CDA strategies and enabling technology from research to market. Dr. Lochrane obtained a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at University of Central Florida.

Dr. David Zeng is currently working as a senior software engineer in the perception/prediction team at Zoox, his work ranges from designing safety-critical software system to the development of behavioral predictions for vulnerable road users using deep learning models. Prior to joining Zoox, he worked at the Uber Advanced technology group for 4 years, heavily involved in the applications of simulations to verifying and validating the self-driving technologies. Dr. Zeng graduated from Texas A&M university in 2014, with a focus in transportation engineering, where his primary research was in connected vehicles, transit priorities and traffic signal controls. He also served as the president for the TAMUite in 2013.

Dr. Ziran Wang is currently a Researcher Scientist at Toyota Motor North America R&D - InfoTech Labs, located in Silicon Valley. He received the Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. His research interests include cooperative motion planning and control / driver behavior modeling / digital twin of intelligent vehicles.
