CDC Measures Car Crash Costs

A new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study found that more than 2.5 million people went to the emergency room in 2012 (about 7,000 people a day) due to motor vehicle accidents. Of the people that went to the ER, approximately 200,000 were hospitalized for crash-related injuries.

Federal officials estimate those injuries total about $18 billion in lifetime medical costs. The study also reported that there were 400,000 fewer car crash-related emergency visits in 2012 compared with 10 years before. Read more at: http://1.usa.gov/ZQgmzZ.
