By Mr. Mark Rinnan posted 10-27-2014 11:40 AM

The Volpe Center invites you to the first New England Transportation Forum: Freight Issues on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The forum will take place at the Volpe Center, which is located at 55 Broadway, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02142. The forum will convene U.S. DOT, State DOT, and MPO/RPA leaders and industry experts, providing an opportunity for New England leaders to meet with their peers and engage in discussions regarding freight issues affecting the region and to strategize best practices and coordination opportunities in response to those issues. There will be no registration fee; however, pre-registration is required for security and planning purposes, and participants will need to cover their own meal and travel expenses.

As reflected in MAP-21 and the surface transportation reauthorization proposals, freight is an increasingly significant issue because safe, secure, and efficient freight flows are critical to the nation's economy and environment. Within this national context, it is important to understand the unique challenges and opportunities for freight in New England.

Please register to attend the New England Transportation Forum: Freight Issues and feel free to share this registration link with any colleagues or partner organizations who would benefit from participating in the event. Pre-registration is required for security and planning purposes. Registrants will receive additional details regarding the agenda and other logistics upon accepting this invitation.

Registration will close on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 unless maximum registration is reached before then.
