FHWA and ITE present: HSIS Data Contest for Undergraduate and Graduate Students!

Are you an undergraduate or graduate student in degree-granting program that supports highway safety, including, but not limited to, engineering, planning, statistics, psychology, and economics? 

Are you looking for a basis for your graduate thesis , class project, or dissertation?

If you answered yes, ITE and FHWA challenge you!

Here is the challenge: Use HSIS (Highway Safety Information Systems) data to investigate a topic that advances highway safety and to develop a paper (2,500-5,000 words) to document the original research.

What you could win: 
• Paper publication in ITE Journal (and/or the HSIS website) 
• Registration for ITE 2016 Annual Meeting and Exhibit (August 14–17, Anaheim, California) 
• Travel assistance to attend the ITE 2016 Annual Meeting and Exhibit

The HSIS Data Contest is jointly administered by FHWA and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 1, 2016 

Note: The process for requesting HSIS data, www.hsisinfo.org/datarequest.cfm, and conducting the analysis can take several months and should be initiated well in advance of the paper submission deadline.
