ITE Meetings and Events during the 2017 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

By Dr. Beverly Kuhn P.E., PTOE, PMP posted 01-05-2017 01:11 PM

The Institute of Transportation Engineers will kick off a new year at the 96th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in Washington, D.C., on January 8-12, 2017. Most of the ITE Councils and Standing Committees will hold meetings either at ITE Headquarters or at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to discuss upcoming activities, action plans, and volunteer opportunities.  All ITE members are welcome at these meetings, and I encourage you to take a moment to stop by and learn all about the exciting things planned for 2017.  The Councils and Standing Committees listed below are on the schedule.  Visit their websites to learn more about them, what they do.  All of them are looking for energetic members willing to volunteer to help with a wide variety of activities.

The full list of the meetings and events being held is on the ITE website here.

IMPORTANT ACCESS INFORMATION:

The following is a summary of the new policies from TRB to ensure that our attendees will have full access to our events and meetings:

  •  Anyone wearing a TRB Annual Meeting registration badge will be permitted to enter the building during the times that the building is open. If you already have a TRB badge, you’re all set.
  • Anyone who is not wearing a TRB Annual Meeting registration badge, may be stopped by the convention center security. If you indicate an intention to register, and if registration is open, you will be permitted to proceed directly to TRB registration on the L Street Bridge, where you can register and get a badge.
  • If you are stopped, and indicate that you are going to a particular ITE event (but not necessarily to TRB registration) and if you know the name of the event and the room location, you will be permitted to proceed directly to your event.

We hope to see you in Washington, D.C.!

Chair, ITE Coordinating Council
