ITSO
(Interdisplinary Transporation Student Organization/ITE University of
Minnesota student chapter) participated in the CSE Student Organization
Fair sponsored by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers on
February 24th, 2012. Amongst the more than 30 exhibitors displaying at the event, ITSO won the 1st place in the SHPE Student Organization Fair 2012.

ITSO displayed two online computer games developed by ITS Institute at University of Minnesota: Gridlock Buster and Distraction Dodger. Distraction Dodger is a newly developed game and it was introduced in U campus popular newspaper: MN Daily. There were three winners who got highest score by playing this game at the fair. The
three winners of the Gridlock Buster game were: Abhijit Wagh (from
ECE), Grant Dornfeld (from CE), and Ryan Bennett (from CE). They will
receive prizes at the March ITSO TransTalk.
ITSO
also displayed a video of a roundabout at 66th street and Portland Ave
from an ongoing project in MTO (Minnesota Traffic Observatory):
analyzing crash accidents and violation driving behavior in the
roundabout. Besides, ITSO
had two display boards introducing: CTS (Center for Transportation
Studies) and MTO (Minnesota Traffic Observatory), which impressed people
greatly by their transportation projects and advanced research
facilities. This was a great experience for ITSO to interact with CSE students, and 11 new members were recruited during this fair.
